reading before writing

i'd like to write down my reflections honestly. but whenever i try, most of what comes out feels too basic to be worth reading — probably already thought through centuries ago and written down better, in books we wouldn't even call philosophical by today's standards. if i actually want to think something that hasn't already been said better, i first need to catch up. at minimum, reach the level of the canonical philosophers — the ones already read by millions before me. so that's where i'm starting: reading. trying to do it every day, juggling 2–3 books at once. marx and nietzsche first. balancing this with my day job isn't easy. work eats most of my time. but i'm making room where i can. one book every two months feels like an honest pace — realistic without being lazy.
